Dr. Michael Takes

Chiropractor

BSc, CSCS, DC - Co-Founder

In 1999, Dr. Takes, received his Doctorate in Chiropractic (DC) and diploma in acupuncture from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Ill. Also in 1999, he received certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and as an active release technique provider (ART). In 1994, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he also played varsity soccer.

Presently, Dr. Takes practices at the Dunfield Physio and Rehab Centre and is also the Medical Director at Preszler Injury Lawyers Law Firm.

His philosophy: The relationship between muscles and joints is very interactive and interdependent. You can’t have an injury to muscle and not affect the joint it crosses and vice versa.  It is imperative that treatment addresses both muscles/fascia and joints and is why manipulation, ART® and/or acupuncture play a major role in the treatment plan.

Each patient will receive a customized treatment and rehabilitation program specific to the patient and the injury, which is based on an accurate diagnosis from the most current and evidence based orthopedic and functional tests. After receiving an accurate diagnosis and implementing a combination of soft tissue therapy, acupuncture and rehabilitation, each patient can expect not only their pain to improve but that the core/root problem is being corrected.
